What styles are included in DFC Hip Hop classes?
DFC Hip Hop classes include real foundations such as grooves, musicality, Breaking, Popping and Locking, alongside choreography and freestyle.
Tricking progressions are also incorporated to develop strength, coordination, control and confidence in an age-appropriate way.

Regular Hip Hop classes run on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings in Kirwan.
Ages 4 to 7, ages 8 to 14 and ages 15+ to adults each have dedicated class times.

For a trial class: comfortable activewear such as a T-shirt with shorts or leggings, supportive sneakers and a water bottle.
Once enrolled: students wear their DFC shirt with black shorts or leggings and sneakers.
Your child's DFC shirt is included with the one-off enrolment fee.
Prepare for Your First ClassDoes my child need previous dance experience?
No. Beginners are welcome.
Skills are broken down and taught step-by-step so students can build confidence, coordination and strong foundations at an appropriate pace.
Your child does not need to walk through the door already feeling confident. Confidence is something they can develop through training.
What age groups can join DFC Hip Hop?
The regular DFC Hip Hop program currently includes:
Ages 4 to 7: DFC Mini Movers.
Ages 8 to 14: Kids and Junior Hip Hop.
Ages 15+ to Adults: Teen and Adult Hip Hop.
Classes are structured differently for each age group so students learn at an appropriate stage of development.

Go to the DFC trial booking page and follow the current booking and payment instructions. The temporary process is kept Simple, Easy and Convenient while the online booking system is being updated.
The trial is $19.99 and gives your child the opportunity to experience DFC before you decide about membership.

Start with a $19.99 trial class.
Ongoing Hip Hop memberships include two classes each week.
The 12-month membership is $84 per fortnight, while the 6-month membership is $94 per fortnight.
A one-off $70 enrolment fee applies when joining and includes the DFC uniform shirt.

Training twice each week gives students more opportunity to remember choreography, strengthen foundations, build fitness and feel increasingly confident in class.

Classes are held at Northreach Baptist Church.
Use the second driveway, drive past the buses, park near the basketball hoops and follow the DFC signs to the hall.

It is very common for a child to feel unsure when trying something new.
Arriving a little early allows your child to meet Tanya, see the room and settle before the class begins.
They are not expected to know everything or participate perfectly in their first lesson.

Book a TrialDoes DFC teach breakdancing?
Yes. Breaking foundations are an important part of the DFC Hip Hop program.
Students are introduced to age-appropriate floorwork, footwork, shapes, strength work and skill progressions.
Skills become more challenging as coordination, strength and confidence develop.
Does Hip Hop include Tricking and is it safe for kids?
Yes. Tricking is included as part of DFC's broader movement development.
Skills are taught through age-appropriate progressions with students developing strength, control and coordination before progressing.
Tricking works alongside Breaking and other Hip Hop foundations rather than being treated as random tricks.
Is the DFC Performance / Conditioning class open to new students?
No. DFC Performance / Conditioning sessions shown on the timetable are by invitation only.
New students should start in their regular age-based Hip Hop class.
Additional training opportunities can be discussed later if Tanya feels they are appropriate for the student's development.
