Experience Matters. Consistency Matters Too.
Looking for a Hip Hop instructor in Townsville who brings structure, consistency and genuine care to your child's training?
Dance Fitness Complex is owner-led and owner-taught, giving students the Benefits of learning with the same experienced teacher week after week.
Meet Tanya.
Dance has been part of Tanya's life since the age of four.
More than 30 years of teaching experience later, the passion for music and movement is still there, but so is something even more important: an understanding that great dance teaching is about far more than teaching steps.
Students need strong foundations. They need clear expectations. They need encouragement. They need someone who notices when they are improving and challenges them when they are capable of more.
That is the approach behind every DFC class.
Your Child Does Not Need to Be Perfect to Progress.
Tanya believes one of the most valuable things a student can learn is how to keep trying when something does not come easily.
That means students receive encouragement, but they also receive corrections.
There will be laughter, games, dance battles and plenty of fun. There will also be repetition, practice, listening and moments when students are expected to focus.
Both are important.
Confidence Comes From Capability.
Real confidence is not created by telling a child that everything they do is perfect.
It grows when they struggle with something, practise it, receive guidance and eventually realise:
"I can do this."
Those moments are a huge part of what DFC is designed to create.
Your Child Is Not Just Another Name on a Roll.
DFC's owner-led structure means Tanya personally teaches and oversees the Hip Hop program.

This includes professional development connected with industry leaders such as Dean Perry from Tap Dogs.

The DFC Method™
Decades of teaching have shaped a clear belief: developing a great dancer means developing more than dance skills.
The DFC Method™ brings that philosophy together through eight connected areas.
Experience That Becomes Their Benefit.
Strong Foundations
Skills are broken down and taught step-by-step so students understand what they are doing rather than simply copying movement.
Individual Encouragement
Students progress differently. Consistent teaching makes it easier to recognise where each child needs support or challenge.
A Teacher Who Knows Them
Over time, your child builds a relationship with the person teaching them rather than constantly adjusting to rotating instructors.
